I worked with and for Karyn at GWB for only a few years. But she was quite the character. It seems she always had a “story” to tell. You know she loved her children and grandchildren because she talked so much about them, and she never bored you with her stories. She is already missed and will be missed for a very long time.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Karyn's passing. We worked together for many years at DCBT and GWB. She was a joy to be around. My sympathy goes out to her family.
Karen boarded Classic at the same barn I boarded my horse at. I only had the pleasure of knowing her for 3 years, but we used to ride around together and she always had a great story about her children or grandchildren. What an awesome lady, so strong and determined. Generous and thoughtful. A beautiful smile and wonderful laugh! So very sorry for your loss. I will never forget her or good old Classic.
Karyn was my cohort at Body Pump. Always laughing and almost crying about how difficult lifting weights was, we trudged through it each Wednesday and Friday. We constantly talked about our shared love of dogs and horses, and I will miss her tenacity and beautiful smile. My condolences to her family.
Karyn came to my Bodypump classes at the Y on Wednesday and Friday mornings. I always enjoyed talking to her about her dogs and her horse. She was a regular participant and will be missed.
To the family of Karyn Hemmingsen....I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady June 15 this year when she brought a new Fur Baby to meet my other dog and me to adopt. Immediately Karyn made us feel like we were friends of long ago. It was very evident she has a great love for family, friends and Fostering dogs. My sincere sympathy it each of you in the loss of your loved one. Also her many friends will miss her as well. Caren Lillie. Fremont NE.. A memorial in Karyn’s memory has been sent to WagNTrain Terrier Rescue

Alice Spence at Great Western just told me Karyn had passed away. I am still shocked that she is gone. When I first started banking at Great Western Karyn went out of her way to get everything set up for me. She was such an animal lover as I am and we got along beautifully. She loved life and it sure did show, she was a pleasure to work with and call a friend. To her family you have my deepest sympathy, she certainly treasured you and shared many stories with me. She will forever be dearly missed and Heaven welcomed an angel who left us much too soon. Rest in peace my friend
Crazy Karyn...couldn’t help but love her and her zest for life!! Best friend of my sister Laurie, we shared several visits when I lived in Colorado. Such an infectious smile and such a sweet lady. Her love for animals helped so many. She will be truly missed! Rest In Peace my friend.
To her kids...feel blessed she was your Mom!

I met Karyn when I was the treasurer of the Benson Neighborhood Association (BNA) some twenty plus years back. She always greeted everyone with that infections smile of hers that is perfectly captured in the picture chosen. I eventually held many positions with the BNA and spent my final days of employment as a phone banker when the phone center was located at Benson Branch. It was always a bright spot in my day if I found her office empty and I could stop in for just a few words about nothing specific after my part time shift had ended as we were very close in age. I am oh so sorry that Karyn has left this here life too soon, but I am so glad I had an opportunity to meet her and give a honk when I could catch her in her PT Cruiser around town.

Karyn was always a bright spot when I visited with her. She was so kind to me when my husband passed away.
Karyn fostered Abby, our Westie that we got from Wag N Train Terrier Rescue. Karyn dog sat Abby for 17 days while we went on a cruise. A very neat lady. I am blessed that I knew Karyn!
Abby and family, so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers during this difficult time.
My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the family, May the God of all comfort give you the strength to cope during this difficult time of mourning. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4
I will always remember Karyn as a head strong and fun loving woman. She had such a beautiful smile and a very kind heart. It is hard to believe she is gone and will be sorely missed.
