Florence M. Brown

Mrs. Florence Mae Brown was truly a caring and devoted humanitarian. The life she lived exemplified her regard for the well-being of others.
Florence was born on September 11, 1958, from the union of Abraham and Willie Florence Triplett in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the fifth of eight children born to their union. She graduated from North High School in 1976. Florence participated in various extra-curricular activities such as tennis, vocal music, and Science Club. She was always very energetic.
After graduating from high school Florence attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Florence worked as a registered nurse until she received a Master's in Public Administration. As an Administrator she worked as;
1) Intensive Care Nurse Supervisor, at Nebraska Medicine.
2) Director of the Women's Health Center, at Creighton University.
3) Supervisor of the Oncology Unit, University of Nebraska Medicine.
As president of the Omaha Black Nurses Association Florence received many awards and recognition for her outstanding service to the health care profession.
She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. Abraham Triplett Sr. Florence leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Mrs. Willie Florence Triplett, siblings: Mrs. Carrie Erwin (Carl Sr.), Mrs. Rosie Humber, Dr. Dorthy Evans (Carvin), Mr. Abraham Triplett Jr. (Joyce), Mr. Melvin Triplett (Roxanne), Mr. Alphonse Triplett, Dr. Johnny Triplett: nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 18, 2021 at St. Mark Baptist church, 3616 Spaulding St., Omaha, NE 68111. A celebration of life service begins at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark Baptist Church. Following services interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
